OUR VISION

VISION

TO BE A CHURCH FOR THE UNCHURCHED.

Did you know there is a vital need in Las Vegas? Maybe you have felt it.

The Las Vegas valley has over 2.1 million people living here. It is expected to grow to 2.7 in the next seven years. The city is full of people from all over the world. The number of people who "want a relationship with God without the organized religion" continue to grow. We believe organized religion is NOT the answer. But there is no doubt, we need each other to have a relationship with God.

John 1:14 tells us Jesus came to an unchurched generation “full of grace and truth.”

We are convinced you need both grace and truth! Yes, from God, and from people around us.

We are consistently asked, "Am I welcome if I am a churched person?" The answer is yes! We will never reach the world for Jesus until we have healthy churches. We would ask you to pray about joining our church’s vision to be intentional about sharing grace and truth with the vast majority of Las Vegas and into the rest of the world!

PURPOSE

OUR PURPOSE

The purpose of East Valley Bible Church is not unique. Every healthy church has the same purpose. To make disciples of all people groups.

The Bible clearly teaches God’s desire for us is to be disciples. This process begins when we first hear the great news of Jesus' love in action and continues throughout our lives.

We believe a healthy church fulfilling this purpose will be engaged in 3 biblical commitments:

  • Encouraging to Know

While gathering to be taught the Bible, prayer and worship the end goal is to give tools so the church can know God personally and intimately.

  • Connecting to Grow

There must be accountability and encouragement, in relationships. It is not enough to passively attend, a healthy church must be there to walk with each other.

  • Equipping to Go

The purpose of the church is more than membership, numbers and size of a weekend gathering. If we are actually accomplishing the purpose Jesus gave us then the church should be mobilizing to reach the unchurched.

Each of these commitments require intentionality. If you are a Christian, we expect you will want to know Jesus and be interested in next steps.

We want to help and encourage you to intentionally start down this journey.

BELIEFS

OUR BELIEFS

EAST VALLEY BELIEVES IN THE FOLLOWING PROVABLE, ESSENTIAL TRUTHS:

You can find a detailed doctrinal statement here.

  • The Bible is God’s revelation and the supreme authority in our lives. It is practical, powerful, and perfect. The Bible shows us where we come from, our purpose, and where we are going. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12-13)

  • God the Father is eternal, powerful, and perfect, making no mistakes and doing no wrong. He is always just and He is always loving. God never changes. (Psalm 18:30, Isaiah 14:27, Malachi 3:6, 1 John 4:8)

  • Jesus is the chosen one to rescue, forgive and save people from the punishment of sin, hell. Jesus is eternal and perfect. Jesus is God. (Matthew 16:16, John 1:1-2)

  • Humanity by nature is not good. Our sin separates us from God. We need God to rescue us from the consequences of sin. (Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23)

  • The death and shed blood of Jesus happened to save us from hell, the punishment of our sin. (Acts 4:12, Romans 5:8)

  • The resurrection of Jesus from the dead shows Jesus’ complete power to give humanity salvation. (1 Corinthians 15:17-19)

  • You can have eternal life only through FAITH in Jesus’ death in your place. It is a FREE GIFT! (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9)

  • A Christian’s life, through obedience, is to be Transformed more and more into the likeness of Jesus. Through the working of the Holy Spirit, transformation happens through intentional discipleship relationships. (Matthew 28:19-20, 2 Corinthians 3:18)

OUR STORY

story

THIS CHURCH WAS PLANTED IN

2012 by two missionary families. Their intention and mission was to love God through obedience and worship and love people with grace and truth. East Valley Bible Church is merely an extension of that goal.

The Moore and Thompson families came with an organization called Tentmakers Bible Mission. The purpose of "TBM" is to plant independent, fundamental, Bible-based churches all over the world.

East Valley Bible Church is heading towards "graduation" out from under the umbrella of TBM so we can be a healthy, thriving group who is able to equip and send out others to continue to reach the world for Jesus.

Matt Moore

Matt grew up in Iowa and had a lot of church experience. It wasn't until college he recognized church was more than a religious exercise and all about a relationship with Jesus.

Matt graduated from Frontier School of the Bible in 2012 and with his wife, Emmerie, joined Tentmakers Bible Mission the same year.

They moved to Las Vegas to share the life of Jesus and plant churches.

He has been the lead pastor at East Valley Bible Church since its' beginning in 2012.
